(1) What’s your Name?

My names are Paul Ini Victor best known as Tusleem Pisces. Tusleem as in Too Slim and my star sign is Pisces. Thats how i came about the stage name “Tusleem Pisces”

(2) For those hearing of you for the first time, how would you describe yourself as an artist?

As an artist. I think i’m just that dude you would always love to be around, that dude you would want to see thrill the crowd. I see myself as one jovial dude who does not think he’s too special amongst others. I’m just ME

(3) How long have you been involved in making Music?

I started writing since 2005, I recorded my first single titled “Street Life” in 2009, Then in 2010 i did another song titled “Amin”. Due to the love and passion i had for Dagrin, I had to Put up a Tribute Song for him in 2011 which i used the instrumental of his last single “If I Die” from the Original producer known as Frenzy and i titled mine “As You Die”. But i will say i started off professionally in 2012 when i recorded a 4mins non-stop rap titled “Undiluted” and ever since then i’ve been on the look out with several other single and featured tracks.

(4) How did you get into Music? And what inspired you to take music seriously?

Music for me has been a part of me since i was a kid because i listened to so many genre of musics while growing up and i was fond of miming songs and i loved dancing as well. The compliments i got from people after writing my first song and the zeal i had in me made me take music more serious. Most times then when i listen to songs on air and am like “I Can Do This Better”, all this and more was the motivation and thank God we are doing it already. Its all a matter of time for us to get more professional

(5) Where do you get Inspiration for your Music?

I’ve had so many people ask me this same question and most times i ask myself too where i actually get the things i say, lol… First i’ll say God gives the best inspiration but aside that, the street feeds me with lots of it. The things i see in my daily life and i also more of my time listening to songs from other artist and that inspires me aswell and make me come up with some new ideas.

(6) Are you signed to a record label?

NO ! I’ve got no label at the moment. Its just me and my crew doing it the best way we can, when i say crew i mean friends and bothers from another mother, we all doing it out of love and we’ve been progressing bit by bit.

(7) What is life like as an UpComing Artist?

Hmmmmm, its really challenging but i dont really see myself as an upcoming though because i am capable of doing what the known artist would do but base on the fact that we’ve not yet arrived, thats where the “Upcoming” tag comes in. But sincerely its not easy trying to meet up with those on top. Even as we try to get up there, Those up there are not ready to give a chance because they dont wanna lose their spot but nothing lasts forever though. We’re getting there… lol

(8) Have you done an album yet? If no, have you got any project you’re working on at the moment?

I’ve not done any album yet, and yes i’m working on my Mixtape album title “P.O.P (Piece of Pisces)” and also dropping singles that are’nt gonna be on the Mixtape album. I’m just doing it all as it comes. All i’m after is giving my people what they really need.

(9) What is it about you that sets you apart from other artists?

I can do almost anything when it come to entertainment. Before i started recoding song, I’ve been a Dj, i do Graphix Designs too and one little secret, my parents are from Akwa-Ibom but i rap like a beast in yoruba. I’m yet to see any rapper from the east or south south do that.

(10) What has been the highlight of your career so far?

Its been good, chellenging and worth the time spend but i reaally think i need to put in more into it.

(11) We hear you’re about to drop the video for your hit song “Street Boss”…can you tell us about it, what is the concept of the video and if you’ve shot it already, what was it like? And if you’re yet to shoot it, what can we expect to see?

Well the video has been shot already. Actually a friend of mine came up with the idea of shooting the video. Like i said earlier its been me and friends running everything all along, I actually brought of the idea of shooting it on the streets of Akowonjo, Lagos where i actually grew. As a video director he came up with some ideas which i thought was fine by me and we did something. It was really stressful being my first video even though we didnt put so much money into it but atleast we got something that could sell the face of Tusleem Pisces and getting me prepared for the next level.

(12) If you had to work with one person in the industry, who would it be and why?

wow.. This is a tough one because i’ve got some strong art i would have loved to work with but since i’m asked to pick just one. That would be 2Face Idibia. 2baba has been at the top of his game. From the little i know about him, he is a very humble and jovial person even at his level in the industry. He still appreciates efforts from the young coming and he is a funny dude too. 2baba no dey form… lol

(13) Besides music, what other activities do you participate in?

Like i said earlier i am a Music Dj and also a Graphic Design. I also handle events and do a little of blogging when i can. I used to run a website but at a point i stopped because i just couldnt cope at all posting new all around the clock and still do my music. I just had to quit it but since i still have my links. I do help others to get their songs promoted online.

(14) Name 3 songs that we would expect to find on your iPod or Music Player

First is “Popular” by Vector Tha Viper, “Street Boss” by me and “Shiga” by Vector Tha Viper. I cant go a die without listening to this 3 songs and a few others.

(15) What are your biggest challenges?

Coming up as an artist, my biggest challenge is working and doing music. If you dont work, then how do you get the money to fund your career. So working and doing music is really a big one for me.

(16) Where do you see yourself five years from now?

Five years from now i want to see myself at the level where those who know me now would say “Tusleem Pisces we’re proud of you”.

(17) What is your opinion of the current state of Nigerian music?

The current state of Nigerian music is not something to joke with. Its far different from what we had a few years ago cos right now i think Nigeria is leading the music sector in africa, no doubts. So many adventures and exciting with too many dope artist and great producers. Its not like before when you record just one song and you’re sure to get famous. Now its a bigger business and one has to buckle up his or her shoe to run the music race.

(18) Any plans to expand across Africa and the world?

Why not? we’re just starting, its one step then the other follows. Like i said its just a matter of time.

(19) What is the greatest thing about working in the music industry? And what would you change if you had the opportunity?

Working in the music industry seem exciting though its hard to get to the level of getting paid, but once you’re there. Its like you’re having fun and getting paid for it. As for what i’ll like to change, i really cant tell right now until i get there.

(20) Throughout your career so far, what’s the best advice that someone has given you? And what advice would you give to fellow UpComing artists?

Sincerely i’ve not really gotten any advice thats so touching to me. The best i get are compliments and a few people say they believe in me deeply, most times i get calls from people i dont know complimenting me and tell me never to stop that i’m almost there. So i think those compliments are the best though. And as for my advice for other UpComing artists. I really think they be 100% sure of what they’re doing because is game isnt a childs play. If you’re not really then get something else doing before its late to switch but if you believe you can do it, then NEVER SAY DIE even when its seems like no one is listening to you. Its all about the timing. Those ontop started off as Upcoming.

(21) What do you think about what the “Alaba Hits” company is doing for all the upcoming artists, promoting their music?

For me as an individual. I think we really need to have more of what Alaba Hits are company are doing because it gives a great platform for the helpless to have a chance of being heard and thats a plus for the music industry

(22) And last but not least, where can your fans get your music?

Just a google search will do that. Type Tusleem Pisces and you can continue from there. Thanks alot. God bless
