My names are Fasasi Mobolaji popularly known as DA EMPEROR

(2) For those hearing of you for the first time, how would you describe yourself as an artist?  

Well, charming, cute, indigenous rapper and a humble and jovial personality

(3)How long have you been involved in making Music?

Since I was 10 years old, at around age 13/14 I became the church choir master then but officially I started music 2008/2009

(4) How did you get into Music? And what inspired you to take music seriously?

music has been my thing since I was a kid, while growing up I had Madt love for Michael Jackson, and lately for Dagrin… These are legends that must never be forgotten.

I took music seriously when I discovered I have personally written almost 50 songs then as about 2009 and I was like, the world’s gonna groove and learn from all these… And that was it! #THE JOURNEY STARTED, and now uncountable songs in stock. Lol

(5) Where do you get Inspiration for your Music?


(6) Are you signed to a record label? 

No not for now, got some deals then but I refused, lol

(7) What is life like as an UpComing Artist?

Interesting, fun filled, challenging, intriguing…. All join hehehehe

(8) Have you done an album yet? If no, have you got any project youre working on at the moment?

No albums yet, but sure a massive project on its way trust me!

Expect names like wizkid, Oritse femi etc, Even the late legendary baba fatai rolling dollar is supposed to be on the project but it was so painful that he gave up the ghost before our planned date to record the song, may his soul R.I.p,…. Well that’s by the way…just keep your fingers crossed *Winks*

(9) What is it about you that sets you apart from other artists?

Well sincerely, I’m just unique in everything I do, as my name implies. #DA EMPEROR.. King over kings, so don’t dull

(10) What has been the highlight of your career so far?

The most recent events has been 2012 /2013 I got featured by KISCO a Jamaican act on the song #fling it Gimme. 2013 I worked with cheepho on d beat, the brain behind most of 9ice’s hit songs, in February 2013 I jumped on Slimjoe’s #be ma boo song, in April 2013 I dropped my most recent hit single which is still gaining massive airplays worldwide titled #PARA MODE# produced by Justee beatz and mastered by indomix. April 27th this year I premiered the video for Para mode at Silverbird cinemas Ikeja Lagos and it was a very massive turn out, I was so impressed, I also bagged the first ever indigenous rapper to perform alongside a liveband, the video has been enjoying massive airplays worldwide and am grateful to those supporting the movement and also my fans. Last year I performed at fashion fusion at the oriental hotel ikoyi. January tgis year I performed alongside Tiwa savage, Davido, j martins and skuki at skye bank’s official fubu party amongst many others..

(11) If you had to work with one person in the industry, who would it be and why?

Smiles… If I would like to work with someone in the industry…. I would choose ASA #the song bird… Cause I love her indigenity and creativity, she’s outstanding

(12) Besides music, what other activities do you participate in?

Well, besides music I draw and catch fun. Lol

(14) What are your biggest challenges?

Life itself is a challenge, but I think the major is this clique of a thing in the entertainment industry, well I have learnt to live with it… Smiles

(15) Where do you see yourself five years from now?

FIVE YEARS FROM NOW… Over 20 grammy’s in my award chest. Lol, well dominating the indigenous rap music scene home and abroad and being appreciated per seconds

(16) What is your opinion of the current state of Nigerian music?

We improving massively, and we being appreciated all over the world, that’s a good one #shoutout to Dbanj, wizkid, psquare, Davido etc they are really representing

(17) Any plans to expand across Africa and the world?

Sure, I have worked with a Jamaican act as I said earlier so expect more international collaborations.. That’s why am here #to take indigenous rap worldwide

(18) What is the greatest thing about working in the music industry? And what would you change if you had the opportunity?

Greatest thing is making my fans smile and being appreciated for the good works.

if I would change anything, it would be giving upcomings the opportunity to showcase themselves cos trust me there are a million and one upcoming that are really and truly talented but are just being swindled.

(19) Throughout your career so far, what’s the best advice that someone has given you? And what advice would you give to fellow UpComing artists? 

BEST ADVICE # Never stop!!!.. If u like run, jog, crawl, walk, fly… But make sure you never stop make sure you keep moving because most definitely it would pay at last.

(20) What do you think about what the Alaba Hits company is doing for all the upcoming artists, promoting their music?
