(2) For those hearing of you for the first time, how would you describe yourself as an artist?

Ans: Different and not your average rap/HipHop artist. I own and control my style of music. Created a niche that suits me. 

(3) How long have you been involved in making Music?

Ans: 5 years

(4) How did you get into Music? And what inspired you to take music seriously?

Ans: I got into music for the love and the realization that I can stand out with my own style of music. I started writing poetry way before i decided to start writing to instrumentals. My inspiration came from within. The need to have people hear me and be entertained by my performances. Live or recorded.

(5) Where do you get Inspiration for your Music?

Ans: From the instrumentals/beat. I listen to a beat and the inspiration/theme comes to me from that.

(6) Are you signed to a record label?

Ans: No 

(7) What is life like as an UpComing Artist?

Ans: Hmmmm…speaking for myself as an upcomer, you need to be content with how things are going, especially if you don’t have the funds to push your career the way you would want it in the music industry.

(8) Have you done an album yet? If no, have you got any project you’re working on at the moment?

Ans: I don’t have an album but I have dropped 2 mixtapes already. Tear Rubber Music 1 & 2.

(9) What is it about you that sets you apart from other artists?

Ans: I own my craft and I have created a special niche for myself.

(10) What has been the highlight of your career so far?

Ans: Dropping my second mixtape and giving out free copies to fans

(11) If you had to work with one person in the industry, who would it be and why?

Ans: Sinzu, because I’m a big fan of his music and he happens to be one of my “Unknown” mentors.

(12) Besides music, what other activities do you participate in?

Ans: Online PR, Social media management, photography and so on.

Ans: Fund/Finances

Ans: Wealthy but not Famous

(16) What is your opinion of the current state of Nigerian music?

Ans: We are doing big things and having international collaboration. That’s good for the industry.

(17) Any plans to expand across Africa and the world?

Ans: Definitely, plans are in the works.

(18) What is the greatest thing about working in the music industry? And what would you change if you had the opportunity?

Ans:  If you are good, there is that opportunity to stand out. If I could change things, I would ban wack music…lol

(19) Throughout your career so far, what’s the best advice that someone has given you? And what advice would you give to fellow UpComing artists?

Ans: Keep doing what you are doing and believe in your craft. 

(20) What do you think about what the “Alaba Hits” company is doing for all the upcoming artists, promoting their music?

Ans: I think it’s brilliant and well thought through. Much kudos to them

G-Mak aka Goldenboy is a prolific and entertaining rapper. His real names are Oluwagbemilehin Fridel Makun and his birthdate is 27th November.
G-Mak has always had an interest in rap music but he really had the chance to work on his rap style while in the United Kingdom,studying for his Masters degree from the University of Hull.
He teamed up with some other friends (G-stone, Slim Vinci) to form Golden Boy records which succeeded in releasing songs such as ‘So she wind’,’Kilonshele’ and ‘Jump Off’.
Now back in Nigeria,he is trying to break into the music industry and make a mark of his own. He is currently signed on to Maverick Records, a subsidiary of Maverick Productions. His witty word play and ‘braggadocious’ delivery are his most prominent trademarks.
He’s indeed an artist to look out for. He may just be rolling with the other stars soon. Watch out for ‘The Tear-Rubber Mixtape’ coming out on 11-11-11!
