ALABA HITS INTERVIEW QUESTIONS:

(1)  What’s your Name?

Ans: Ikpemhosi Amakhabi (IK Worships)

(2)  For those hearing of you for the first time, how would you describe yourself as an artist?

Ans: I am a Christian. I love Rock music, so my music is influenced by the rock genre. My focus is on the message of God’s love and being a blessing to humanity.

(3)  How long have you been involved in making Music?

Ans: Professionally in 2012

(4)  How did you get into Music? And what inspired you to take music seriously?

Ans: I am a church music minister. In 2012, my mentor and Pastor, Yemi Davids of Global Impact Church, Lagos motivated me, stressing the need that I had to take this message and gift out of the confines of the church to the larger world. Hence, my first recording, Akamaranma (Beautiful Hands).

(5)  Where do you get Inspiration for your Music?

Ans: The Holy Spirit is my inspiration as well as the beauty of God’s creation.

(6)  Are you signed to a record label?

Ans: Not at the moment.

(7)  What is life like as an UpComing Artist?

Ans: It’s a learning process. There are lots of barriers to cross but so far, it’s been a fulfilling ride.

(8)  Have you done an album yet? If no, have you got any project you’re working on at the moment?

Ans: I’m currently in the studio working on my debut album. A music video is also in view.

(9)  What is it about you that sets you apart from other artists?

Ans: First, I believe I function by the grace and favour of God because I have enjoyed speed in this journey as an artiste. Also, my genre of choice, though not very popular, sets me apart.

(10) What has been the highlight of your career so far?

Ans: There have been several highpoint. I’ll pick feedback from friends and fans whose lives are impacted by my music. That’s huge for me.

Ans: Nigerian: Eben/Nosa       International: Israel Houghton

(15) Where do you see yourself five years from now?

Ans: Still making great music and blessing lives all around the world.

(16) What is your opinion of the current state of Nigerian music?

Ans: I think is getting better. Nigerian listeners are becoming mature and have started to drop the empty music that had ravaged the industry in recent times for more intelligent lyric based songs. It can only get better.

(17)  Any plans to expand across Africa and the world?

Ans: Oh yes. That’s the whole idea.

(18)  What is the greatest thing about working in the music industry? And what would you change if you had the opportunity?

Ans: The greatest thing is the fact that your work gets to outlive you long after you are gone (that’s if you did a great job tho…lol). You get to meet talented people and great minds. Simply beautiful.

If I had to change anything, it would be the award system. People need to be awarded based on merit not by votes or purchase of the awards.

(19) Throughout your career so far, what’s the best advice that someone has given you? And what advice would you give to fellow UpComing artists?

Ans: The greatest advice for me was given to me by Pastor Wale Adenuga. He said that, no matter what genre I chose to pursue, I must stick to it. There lies the impact. It’s worked so far.

(20)  What do you think about what the “Alaba Hits” company is doing for all the upcoming artists, promoting their music?

Alaba hits is helping acts fulfil their dreams. That’s being a blessing and anyone who is a blessing is ultimately blessed.

(21)  And last but not least, where can your fans get your music?

Ans: All my songs can be downloaded free at www.hulkshare.com/ikpemhosi
